“Nothing is as raw and basic and subtle as the organic substance called PAINT” states Rob Sherrill with much positive enthusiasm.
And his paintings, from tiny gouache landscapes to bold impasto oils of urban views, demonstrate the truth of that statement. Rob uses oil paint almost as a building material…he composes and constructs with texture and color. Some images are bright hot blasters like several of his Colorado Street Bridge paintings and others such as those of Eaton Canyon are rendered in shadowy tones with little contrast. All are captivating.
