With intensive study (Art Center in the 60’s) and practice (US and Europe) in Industrial Design Barry Zauss gained expertise on the technical side of things. He then yearned for a change and began his career in Architectural Illustration working for Gruen & Associates and then forming his own office. Barry taught Drawing and Painting at Cal State LB, Bradley Univ. in Illinois, and also found his way back to Art Center to teach. There he was able to pass along his experience and wonderful way of combining the refinement of rendering with his more expressive nature. The Bridge paintings here at Aarnun Gallery are particularly intriguing as the shadows, perspective, and details are so perfectly depicted yet it is the landscape that is captivating.
